What is a thermostatic mixing valve?
A thermostatic mixing valve, or a TMV, is a safe and reliable valve that mixes the hot and cold water together to provide a constant safe outlet temperature not exceeding 50°C which can prevent scalding.
TMVs are most commonly found in childcare centres, schools, aged care facilities and hospitals.
To ensure correct operation of all safety devices in the valve, all TMVs are required to be tested once a year and be replaced every 5 years.
